module 12
I chose 'Art of the 50's and 60's' and 'Uncertainty: Modernity and Art' because I love everything about the 50 and 60's era and am hoping the modernity video is about how art has expanded.
2. In 'Art of the 50's and 60's' I learned that many comic book characters are put together in the same way and viewed the same way. Also, I learned how to dissect a photo to better understand how a portrait was put together in the way that it was. In 'Modernity and Art' I learned that modern art is very hard to interpret and many people wish it wasn't. I realized that there is a lot of emotion behind the random strokes in a painting and nothing is meaningless. I always asked myself why I couldn't be famous for splatter painting on a canvas but I now see there is a lot of heavy detail behind the randomness of artwork.
3. These videos relate to the text because they both explain the many fine details that make or break the artwork and the hardworking behind each piece. They also both go through how society perceives the artwork and how that is constantly changing.
4. These videos were the most interesting and I learned a lot more. I think that watching these videos is very beneficial and allows me to have a better understanding of concepts within the art world that I have not known before.
