I chose to take the hand out and just focus on the face. Reflection questions: 1. I selected these inspiration pieces because they each are unique with different angles. 2. I selected the media to do my self portrait because to me it is easiest to get fine details with a pencil for it to look the most like me. 3. I was facing challenges while drawing the lips. I couldn't get them how mine looked but I did try my best. 4. This piece represents me because there are no filters or edits and this was strictly just a photo with the fl...

module 16-reflections of AED 200

1. My expectations of this class was to learn more about the background of art and these expectation were beyond met. I learned more than I thought I would which is great! 2. In my first post I said art is a from of creativity and a way to express oneself. I still believe in this but I also want to add that art isn't just about opinion and how the artist views things. The artist will gear towards a certain audience and actually leave out their personal opinions of the artwork and put aside their feelings in one's work. 3. Vincent Van Gogh was my favorite artist and now it is Claude Monet. Monet is my favorite because I have seen many of his painting of flowers in fields and the texture look of his art makes it even better. 4. I love online courses! My view on them are the same from the beginning because I knew it would take more self discipline but I love it! I learned a lot doing everything on my own.

art exhibition project

For this project I first found all of the bright and cheerful artwork I wanted to use. I then organized the artwork in order of the colors and textures used. This project was a lot of fun and the theme was perfect for m to describe. Anything joyful or happy I love to view! This is the type of work I like to see. I then found information on each piece of art and every single one had a reason to be on my slideshow. Every piece was joyful and wanted to show the viewer a sense of happiness and a content feeling within your life. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1VOaU-AwM0TiTs3BbzKyMjmWeMapslqFsCRHUzwHNw4Q/edit#slide=id.p

module 13 & 14

1. In the West Coast Pop Art video, I learned that there are many conflicting views on lowbrow art. Also, many of the famous artists had to work alone and everything was individualized on how they got noticed. In Tate Modern I learned that modern art is very different now and makes the viewer think in a more deeper and detailed way. In the Philippe de Montebello video, I learned about the different cultural artwork within the museum. There was always a need for quality in the artwork as well. 2. Yes these videos relate to the project because it shows different types of artwork being shown. The various artwork being shown gives me a sense of what direction I would like to go in and how to properly make my slideshow. 3. I personally thought these videos weren't very informational. I did learn new things but a lot of it was just showing different works in museums and I didn't feel that helped me on my knowledge of art. The only one that helped me add depth in thinking about my...

module 12

I chose 'Art of the 50's and 60's' and 'Uncertainty: Modernity and Art' because I love everything about the 50 and 60's era and am hoping the modernity video is about how art has expanded. 2. In 'Art of the 50's and 60's' I learned that many comic book characters are put together in the same way and viewed the same way. Also, I learned how to dissect a photo to better understand how a portrait was put together in the way that it was. In 'Modernity and Art' I learned that modern art is very hard to interpret and many people wish it wasn't. I realized that there is a lot of emotion behind the random strokes in a painting and nothing is meaningless. I always asked myself why I couldn't be famous for splatter painting on a canvas but I now see there is a lot of heavy detail behind the randomness of artwork. 3. These videos relate to the text because they both explain the many fine details that make or break the artwork and the...

Artist: Jonathon Rogers Title: New Beginning from the Visions of Faith series, 2006 Media: Graphite on paper 1. The way the clouds are formed with graphite and the perfection of the hand and its creases amazes me. 2. I see a hand holding up a small child toward the sun within the clouds. 3. The principles and elements of this artwork has form and value within it. 4. I'm sure there is a metaphor behind this painting but I cannot think of it, it definitely has a strong meaning behind it. 5. I think the artist was trying to show life being given by God. Artist: Jonathon Rogers Title: Group Self-Portrait #3 from the Group Self Portraits series, 2003 Media: Oil on canvas 1. There is a lot of detail within this piece. The foreground/background effect is strongly showed and the color hues that change are very emphasized. Especially since some of the 'people' are colored and then there is an emphasis on the black figures above. 2. I see many ...

module 11

1. I selected 'Matisse and Picasso' because I wanted to learn more about the famous artists that they are. I never knew much about them and was eager to find out. I also chose 'Expressionism' because it seemed interesting and was hoping it would teach me how artists chose the expressions on their artwork and what they meant behind them. 2. In 'Matisse and Picasso' I learned that Matisse and Picasso were both very different. I learned that Picasso added a lot to his works. He would come back everyday and restart on his painting, adding something new every time. In 'Expressionism', I learned that artists emphasized emotion to tell a story in their artworks. There were sad emotions expressed to signify death and to give details to the audience when looking at the artwork. 3. The videos relate to the reading in the text because they both give us reasons and ways that artists connect with their audience. 4. My opinion of these films were mixed throughou...
